Sugar: The good, the bad and the ugly!
Is sugar addictive and is it bad for you?
Sugar has always been given a bad name, you can see this clearly across social media platforms, online news sources and on newspapers. Sugar is a major buzz word that the media love to play with as there is so much misinformation out there, the people behind the headlines know that it will grab your attention. Using buzz words such as sugar to attract viewers is a shady way to conduct business as spreading false information with no evidence can’t possibly be taken seriously but unfortunately it does attract attention from the uninformed majority and from there it’s the blind leading the blind. I am going to make it very simple for you to understand this issue so that you can educate others on this topic moving forward.
So is it good or bad?
Is sugar actually bad for you or is it all just media hype? Unfortunately like with most answers its, yes and no. Everything is context specific and it will vary for everybody. If you eat sugar all day every day you would in doubt be fat. But you need to see what your calorific needs are, your overall diet and your training output. There is no general ‘yes/ no’ as its just food at the end of the day!
